Leaf Anatomy

Petiole
The petiole is what attaches the leaf to the stem. it can seem like a stem but it is a part of the leaf.
Lamina
The surface part of the leaf. Where most area of the leaf is.
Midrib
Divides the leaf from the middle and supports the shape of the leaf.
Vein
Transport nutrients and water from the stem to the leaf. And move the sugars made in photosynthesis to the stem hance to the rest of the plant.
Cuticle
Protective waxy layer which covers the outside of the leaf.
Margin
Outer edge of the leaf.
