Fruit Anatomy

Epicarp
The outermost tissue of the fruit. Like the rind of a watermelon or an orange.
Mesocarp
The fleshy and edible part of a fruit. Usually contains a lot of water.
Endocarp
The inner part of the fruit usually surrounding the seed.
Seed
Contain the genetic material of a new plant.
